Arbor Day Ceremony
Location: SOUTH LYON HISTORIC VILLAGE - SOUTH SIDE OF FREIGHT HOUSE, 300 DOROTHY STREET, SOUTH LYON, MI 48178

All are invited to a ceremonial tree planting of a "Sunset Maple Tree". South Lyon's Mayor Steve Kennedy will participate in this event to honor Arbor Day. More information is available at arborday.org and southlyonmi.org. South Lyon is a "TREE CITY-USA COMMUNITY". Sponsored by the City of South Lyon DPW and the Storm Water Management Planning Program.

Memorial Day Parade
The South Lyon Area Historical Society will again march in this year's Memorial Day Parade on Monday, 5/27/24. Our theme will be "The 1970's". We are looking for participants to march or ride with our group, including those lucky enough to own a 1970's motor vehicle. Participants will need to wear clothing appropriate for the 1970's. Usually the parade participants meet at the beginning of the parade route near downtown Memorial Day morning at a designated time and place, to be announced.
